What we publish

Articles fall into two broad categories: timely analysis of current developments and evergreen frameworks designed to help readers make better financial decisions. Commentary and interpretation are clearly presented as analysis rather than as straight-news reporting.

Sourcing

Material factual claims should be supported by primary sources whenever practical, including company filings, government publications, regulator guidance, research from established institutions, and original source documents. Secondary reporting may be used for context, but important claims should be cross-checked when possible.

Timely analysis

When a current event is used as the basis for an article, the article should add independent interpretation, financial context, scenario thinking, or a practical framework. Numbers & Judgment does not aim to reproduce or lightly rewrite another publisher’s reporting.

Accuracy and uncertainty

Forecasts, estimates, and scenario ranges are labeled as such. Where facts are incomplete or changing, the article should say so. Precision should not be implied when the underlying information does not support it.

Corrections

If a material factual error is identified, the article will be corrected promptly. Material changes should be disclosed in the article when the correction affects the meaning of the analysis. Minor typographical or formatting edits may be made without a correction note.

To flag a possible error, source issue, or missing context, leave a comment on the relevant article. Please identify the specific statement and, when possible, provide the source supporting the correction.

Conflicts and independence

Editorial conclusions are intended to be independent. Sponsored content, affiliate relationships, or other material commercial relationships will be labeled if they are introduced in the future. The publication does not currently require payment to access its editorial analysis or free tools.

Privacy and examples

Examples may be simplified, anonymized, or hypothetical to illustrate a finance concept. Confidential employer, client, donor, vendor, employee, or counterparty information is not intentionally published unless it is already public and appropriate to cite.

Not individualized advice
